Rainy day calls for some refreshing Turmeric Tonic
The base for this easy tonic is lemon juice, freshly grated ginger, and freshly grated turmeric.
5 minutes, 3 ingredients, and 1 pot
-1 Tbsp turmeric (packed // or 1/2 tsp ground, though fresh is best)
-1 Tbsp fresh grated ginger
-3 Tbsp lemon juice
-1 Tbsp honey
-1 pinch cayenne pepper (cracked black pepper)
-3 cups filtered water
To a small saucepan, add turmeric, ginger, lemon juice and leftover lemon rind, honey(optional), cayenne (optional), and filtered water.
Bring to a simmer (not a boil) over medium to medium-high heat (~3 minutes). Then turn off heat.
Set a small strainer over serving glasses and serve it in your mugs.
